peggy seeger's websitePeggy brings to the craft of bookmaking her experiences in writing, magazine publishing, travel (especially in Asia), and sewing, as well as her love of paper, fabric, typefaces, and printing. She uses handmade papers and closures, fabric, mica, and natural threads, such as linen and silk, in creating one-of-a-kind books. Her work focuses on historic bookbinding techniques including the Secret Belgium Binding, Coptic binding developed by Christians in ancient Egypt, and various Japanese binding techniques from the 15th century. In addition, she uses various old and new weaving techniques on exposed spines.
