Artist Statement:

There are lots of artists in my family, and I have grown up surrounded by beautiful things that they and their friends have made. My main driver has been the comfort and enjoyment I get from using dishes, rugs, quilts, and furniture made by hand. Because of this I make art that can be used on a daily basis. I enjoy learning about old-fashioned technologies and working that wisdom into my forms. This can be as simple as a comfortable handle to protect hands from hot drinks or a more complex larder designed to keep food cool.
